Shaky greetings from another damn meditation center
And thus, it came to pass that Poland, of all the countries in the world, would be the first one from which I did two videos on separate trips. The reason that the camera's shaking so damn much may very well be that my body, at the time, was still in the process of cleansing itself of all the junk that emerges during a Vipassana course. I had stomach issues that morning; later in the day, I was highly emotional, and the following night, I slept for +10 hours. All in spite of the fact that I was there as a volunteer worker and meditated less than half the time of the regular students.
As I'm hinting at in this video, and as I've said before, a Vipassana meditation course is both a grueling and a purifying experience. You're aware of every minute as it passes – oftentimes of every second. And oftentimes, those minutes and seconds consist of pure physical pain and/or overwhelm by repressed ideas, grudges, regrets, and desires, all mercilessly bubbling to the surface. And after 10 days of that, you're stronger, happier, calmer, and more centered and peaceful than ever. You see things clearer; your relationships with others become happier; your own mind becomes more relaxed; life just plain becomes better.
So, once again my deepest recommendations for taking a Vipassana course. In an ideal world, we would all do it once per year. It's 100% donation-based, so it's entirely free apart from what you choose to donate – if you want to.
