Greetings from a basket boat in Đà Nẵng!

Here's what it looks like on a small river in Vietnam:

Man, it's just like in the movies. Except, you know, it doesn't involve a reenactment of mowing down Viet Cong and/or civilians. Indeed, this is only serene, pretty nature and a warm, tropical climate. As I'm saying, it's a bit on the humid side, but overall, I love it here. I've been dreaming about coming to Southeast Asia for many years now, and going by this one week we've spent here so far, Vietnam lives up to my expectations and more.

We took this boat trip in a little fisherman's town called Hội An, and the vibe here is like something out of a fairy tale – almost like a modern-day, tropical version of The Shire. I guess.

The point is, Vietnam is fantastic, and if you haven't been here, you gotta check it out.
